Reporting, bans and chat problems

How to report or block someone, what an Error 267 ban means, and why chat might be switched off.

This page is for players. If you've been banned, blocked, reported, or you can't work out why chat is switched off, it's all below.

Parents looking at Brookhaven for the first time want the parents' guide instead. That covers age ratings, what your child actually does in the game, and every control you have over it.

How do I report someone in Brookhaven?

From the Roblox menu, while you're still in the server.

  1. Open the Roblox menu. Esc on PC, the Roblox icon on mobile and console.
  2. Find the player's name in the list.
  3. Choose Report, pick what happened, and add a short description.

Do it before you leave. Reporting from inside the server attaches the context Roblox's moderation team needs, and a report filed afterwards has much less to go on.

Roblox decides what happens to the account. The reports that involve Brookhaven come to us as well, and we act on our side of it.

How do I block someone?

Same menu. Find them in the player list and choose Block. It stops them contacting you across Roblox, not only in Brookhaven.

Blocking and reporting do different jobs. Blocking protects you. Reporting is what gets the account looked at. If someone's behaviour was bad enough to block, it's worth reporting as well.

What does Error 267 mean?

It means a ban that came from Brookhaven rather than from Roblox. Roblox is direct about what that means on their side: “Roblox Support is unable to remove bans issued directly by experience creators or contact them for you.”

Bans are applied for how people treat other players, and for exploiting.

If Roblox has banned your whole account rather than Brookhaven specifically, that's a separate thing and it goes through Roblox's own process.

Someone banned me from their house

That isn't moderation and it isn't a ban from the game. Any player can bar another player from the house they've claimed. It only applies to that house, in that server, and joining a different server clears it.

How do I stop people coming into my house?

Lock the doors from the house menu, and use House Ban on anyone who won't take the hint. Roommate and Family let specific people through a locked door. The full set is in the houses guide.

If you want to be certain who's in the server at all, that's what a private server is for.

Why can't I chat in Brookhaven?

Almost always because of a Roblox setting rather than anything in Brookhaven, which is why you can't fix it from inside the game.

Since January 2026, Roblox has required an age check before anyone can use chat, at any age. You complete it through facial age estimation or by verifying ID. Phone verification doesn't count for this any more.

After that it depends on age:

  • Between 5 and 9, a parent has to switch on chat inside experiences.
  • Under 16, a parent has to switch on direct chat.
  • Once you're age-checked, you can chat with players in a similar age range and with people Roblox counts as trusted.

All of it lives in Roblox account settings, or in a linked parent's controls. Roblox explains the whole thing here.

Does Brookhaven have voice chat?

Voice is a Roblox feature rather than a Brookhaven one, and it's off unless you turn it on.

You need to be 13 or over, in a supported region, and to have completed facial age estimation or verified ID. Roblox's own wording: “Eligible 13+ users who have verified their ID or completed facial age estimation can opt in to use Voice Chat.” Phone verification isn't a route to it.

Someone's cheating or exploiting

Report them from the Roblox menu while you're still in the server, the same way as above. That's the route that reaches moderation with the context attached.

I used a “free Robux” site and something's wrong with my account

Change your Roblox password now, before anything else. Then turn on two-step verification in Roblox account settings and check which devices are signed in.

There is no way to generate Robux. Every site offering it is collecting passwords. If items or Robux have already gone, account recovery is handled by Roblox rather than by us.

What we can and can't do

We can remove someone from Brookhaven and fix things in the game.

We can't touch a Roblox account, reverse a Roblox moderation decision, or refund Robux. Those belong to Roblox, and no creator has access to them.

The team is on the Brookhaven Discord if you need to get in touch.
