Brookhaven jobs and roleplay ideas

Every job category in Brookhaven, how to take one, what a job actually changes, and roleplay scenarios that work.

Brookhaven has dozens of jobs, and you take one to be that person for a while. Pick from the jobs menu in the sidebar, or walk into the building and use the Take Job button inside.

Your job icon then floats above your head so everyone else can see what you are. One job at a time. Take a break, end a break, or quit whenever you like.

What jobs are there in Brookhaven?

Five categories:

  • Service. The largest by some way. Hospital, police station, fire house, bank, restaurants.
  • Family. Household roles, wherever you live.
  • Shop. Retail, around Haven Plaza and the rest of town.
  • Arts. Performing and making. Theater, studio, museum.
  • Outside. Outdoor work. Stables, construction, grounds.

Do Brookhaven jobs pay?

Jobs here are roles rather than wages. A job is a costume and a place to be, so you're a doctor because you want to be a doctor for the next forty minutes, and you can be a chef straight after.

Where do I get a uniform?

At the workplace. There are clothing racks at the bank, at Hair & Nails, at Jett's and in plenty of other places. You can also build a look yourself in the Avatar Editor, which has the Brookhaven High uniform in it along with most of what you'd need for a hospital or police roleplay.

What are good Brookhaven roleplay ideas?

The best sessions start with an idea everyone agrees on before anybody spawns anything. Six that work:

  • News crew. One anchor, one reporter in the field, and everyone else makes something happen worth reporting. A fire at the power plant, a missing horse, a new business opening. The anchor stays at the desk no matter what.
  • Hospital night shift. One doctor, one nurse, one receptionist, and everyone else takes turns being the emergency. It's much better if the ambulance drives to the incident instead of spawning at the door.
  • School day. Pick a teacher, fill the classroom, run a lesson with a bell schedule. Brookhaven High's teams are the Bobcats and the uniform is in the Avatar Editor.
  • A family with a routine. Not just “be a family”. Give everyone something to do: school run, jobs, dinner, somebody's birthday. The Party feature exists for exactly this.
  • A small business. Take a unit and run it properly. Café, salon, mechanic. The constraint is what makes it fun, so nobody's allowed to break character to spawn a jet.
  • Town hall meeting. Someone plays mayor and everyone else brings a complaint. Surprisingly good on a full server.
